Tess and Zach went from one San Antonio wedding venue to another (and really one Colorado venue to another!) to make it to their special day. This adventurous 2020 wedding planning journey is f i n a l l y on the blog, and man there is so much good stuff to share about this one! First, can we talk about how these two were just destined to be together? Not only do they share the same birthday, these two were born on the exact same day, the exact same year. Oh, and did we mention they were born at the exact same hospital?! Cribmates!!
These high school sweethearts have been together 10 years. They took their love long distance, and then planned not one, not two, but three separate weddings! You know, in the midst of the dumpster fire of 2020. But, in our benefit, because their 2 planned Colorado weddings didn’t work out, we got to be a part of the most beautiful, special celebration for these two at Lost Mission. So excited to share some of these details with you all!
Tess and Zach started their day getting ready downtown at The Westin Riverwalk hotel. Pretty sure this is the greatest spot for bridal/getting ready photos that we’ve seen in a long time. Totally obsessed with that bookcase! Their ceremony was at St. Anthony de Pauda Catholic Church and Ann (aka Momma T) bought the cutest parasails for the bridal party to use for sun-shielding. But also really awesome photos, cause duh! Following their ceremony, the whole group loaded up on a bus to head to the beautiful Texas Hill Country and their reception at Lost Mission. Tess had said many times how photography was really important to her, and clearly she picked a winner with Bend the Light. We probably squealed and downloaded 100 or more pictures when they sent the gallery our way!

After ringing the iconic chapel bell, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio and inside the reception space (because August in Texas, you know). We still wanted that exciting room reveal for the reception, so we worked closely with Marquee to create a separate space in the large ballroom. The gorgeous walls served both functional and aesthetic purposes, filled with photos of weddings from family members glowing by candlelight.
Probably one of our favorite designs of the year, this reception had EVERYTHING. Soft candlelight amongst beautiful blooms, gorgeous table settings from Illusions – we loved it all. And if you aren’t sold on the importance of lighting, you will be after you see some of these photos. Bonus: it’s something offered in house when you book with Lost Mission!
After all they’d been through during their wedding planning and having to change dates and venues numerous times, it was so heartwarming to see these two and their families and friends celebrate the rest of the night. We could not have been happier to have been a part of such a wonderful evening, and a fun (albeit busy!) couple months of planning leading up to it. Thank you for letting our team be a part of such an important day. It’s one we will remember for quite some time!
Congratulations you two! Your love story is one that certainly feels like a fairytale, and we cannot wait to see where it takes you.
